Job description

Our partner, a leading utilities company in the northeastern US, is seeking an Engineer III to join their team on a 6 month contract (potential for extension/conversion to perm). The work format will be hybrid and candidates must be located in NY or MA near to one of the following cities: Syracuse, NY; Albany, NY; Brooklyn, NY; Hicksville, NY; NYC or Waltham, MA.

Job Purpose

We are looking for solid technologists excited about working in a different industry (assuming they don’t know utilities), on major corporate initiatives, building a strategic platform. Data Integration and Engineering are just a piece of our organization’s massive IT/Digital transformation, and this role is a great way to get to be part of it.

Key Accountabilities

• Design, delivery, and documenting of ETL workflows and critical data systems.
• Work with architecture and development teams to ensure consistency of solutions/delivery.
• Work with data management team to ensure correctness and integrity of data.
• Work on cloud integration data pipelines. Strong in data warehouse, SQL queries.
• Continue to learn and/or improve skills with new and relevant technologies like Matillion, Snowflake, and Azure.

Interpersonal Experience Required

• Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with third party suppliers/vendors.

Qualifications

• 8+ Years of Experience in ETL projects, 3+ Years of experience in Cloud integrations.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, etc.
• Candidate must have experience designing and implementing of ETL workflows.
• Candidate must have experience working in Snowflake, or similar environments.
• Candidate must have data warehousing experience.
• Advanced SQL and stored procedure development required.
• Data Integration and Engineering. Matillion and Snowflake preferred.
• Other ETL experience essential (Informatica, Data Stage, etc.)
• Certifications in Snowflake, Azure, Matillion helpful.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour
