NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Salary Range
$88,600 - $172,300
- Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a Engineering Program/Project Lead
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Use a variety of problem-solving methodologies to identify solutions to complex operational, programmatic, and strategic problem sets
- Work as an integrated part of a team effort on a complex process or recommend changes to methods and processes
- Communicate with a broad cadre of internal and external collaborators and stakeholders to identify requirements.
- Lead programmatic initiatives to advance the EPP.
- Develop and communicate data packages on the state of health of the program.
- Create various types of communication and presentation material for initiatives
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline.
- Experience proposing and implementing programmatic processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to team across disciplines.
- Experience with standard project management practices (and subject matter expertise in some) including project plan development, integration management, scope management, project scheduling, cost estimation and management, quality assurance, resource management, communications planning and management, risk and opportunity management, and procurement management.
Qualifications We Desire
- An active DOE Q-level security clearance and ability to obtain Sigma15 level access.
- Master’s degree in relevant discipline.
- Experience/familiarity with the 6.X process.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams that are not collocated.
- Ability to deliver products in complex and ambiguous environments and “fail forward”
About Our Team
The Electronic Parts Program (EPP) is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Program/Project Lead to join our multidisciplinary and dynamic program. The EPP is a complex multi-site program executed by Sandia National Laboratories (SNL) out of organization 7640, and Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC) to ensure commercial electronic parts are utilized reliably, predictably, and repeatably in nuclear deterrence systems. Our vision for the program is to be the enterprise leaders in establishing operational excellence and developing and executing an assured technical basis to integrate commercial electronic parts into defense systems. This is an exciting opportunity to continue to execute a new business model created to deliver on our commitments and transform how electronic products are used in current and future defense programs.
In this role you will work closely with senior program staff to plan and direct the execution of projects involving technical and/or supply chain elements, while coordinating as required with customers in order to deliver projects according to plan. The ideal candidate for this position possesses the ability to take complex concepts and problems and communicate them across a broad cadre of stakeholders and collaborators.
Department 7645 leads the EPP through integrated planning activities, execution management, and communication across the participating organizations and with sponsor organizations. The department also executes integrated program management functions by designing and executing well integrated communication and alignment systems, data streams for visibility of status and baselines, change control, and shared awareness and understanding between the participating organizations.

Security Clearance
