The Senior Engineering Technician will provide support and interface with the ASR contractor team supporting NSWCPD Engineering Operational Sequencing System Branch (Code 313), Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) team at the Philadelphia Naval Yard. Areas of support include the development of and revisions to: Engineering Operating Sequencing Systems (EOSS), Aviation Fuel OSS (AFOSS), Sewage Disposal OSS (SDOSS), Catapult OSS (CATOSS), Catapult Lube Oil OSS (CLOSS), Cargo Fuel OSS (CFOSS), Deck OSS (DOSS), and OSS for Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) systems as required on U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard steam, diesel, and gas turbine powered ships..

Job Description:

♦ The incumbent shall provide engineering, technical, and logistics support for Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems with respect to Engineering Operational Sequencing Systems (EOSS) onboard U.S. Navy ships.

♦ The incumbent shall provide support to the EOSS Branch, the Program Office, and the Program Field Offices. Support encompasses Continental United States (CONUS) and Out of Continental United States (OCONUS) locations.

♦ Provide engineering and technical support with multifaceted ASR contractor team supporting both onsite USN government and at contractor site locations.

♦ Coordinates with ASR lead, provider, customer, and user and continuous interfaces with the NSWCPD technical community (ISEA/Engineers/OEMs/vendors).

♦ Represents NSWCPD Code 313 at various internal and external meetings in a professional manner.

♦ Coordinates/develops support requirements for specific tasks, monthly task performance and status reports.

Requirements:

♦ High school, trade or industrial school or GED equivalent.

♦ Six (6) years’ experience including practical engineering experience which should include the operation, test, maintenance, and repair of naval ship Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Ordnance equipment and systems.

♦ Including three (3) years’ experience in the development and updating of engineering operational procedures and diagrams utilizing ISODRAW and Adept Editor software (or equivalent) to incorporate required changes into existing operational procedures and diagrams for in-service ships.

♦ Ability to generate new operational procedures and diagrams for new acquisition ships in SGML and CGM formats (or equivalent) and conversion to PDF.

♦ Knowledge and experience utilizing Engineering Operational Sequencing System (EOSS) Development Manual and Engineering Operational Sequencing System (EOSS) Requirements Manual desired.

♦ Knowledge of DoD/Navy/NSWCPD Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans and processes desired.

♦ Ability to communicate effectively with USN customer and contractor personnel at all levels.

♦ High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, suppliers, and visitors.

♦ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

♦ Occasional travel required.

♦ Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidate will require an Active DOD SECRET Clearance.

Physical Demands: Requires walking, sitting, and standing periods of time. Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment.
