Description of Role:

Mountaineer Employment Solutions has partnered with an engineering consulting firm in Morgantown, WV. They are currently seeking Engineering Technicians. This is an entry-level position. The Engineering Techs are primarily responsible for performing routine quality control test procedures including concrete and nuclear moisture / density testing.

Tasks:

• Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures
• Complete and submit daily reports and Job Hazard Analysis forms
• Familiar with applicable plans and specifications
• Notify supervisor or Project Manager immediately of problems and deviations from plans and specifications
• Has frequent exposure to clients, however, does not interpret specifications or direct work
• May occasionally make limited recommendations in the field, only after consulting with PM and/or Engineer
• May have limited responsibility for assisting and training entry-level technicians
• Maintain a driving record free of specific violations
• May also perform field work within other company disciplines
• May include occasional client contact to schedule additional material testing
• May occasionally attend job site related meetings, including, but not limited to, progress meetings and preconstruction meetings
• May occasionally perform routine testing in the lab
• Strive to make each project profitable

Skills & Requirements:

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
• Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and clean driving records ((3 years))
• A background in the construction industry is preferred
• Must possess ability to read, write and perform basic math
• Must be comfortable communicating with the public
• Must be comfortable performing basic computer functions
• Must be able to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments
• Ability to work in a team environment

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm
• *Occasionally work evenings and weekends (overtime), plus travel to other offices and projects

Compensation:

• $15.00 - $17.00 per hour starting out
