Crane Currency is looking to fill an Environment, Health, and Safety Specialist Job in Nashua, NH. This newly created position will administer the occupational health, safety, and environmental programs for the organization.
The EHS Specialist* is responsible for*

  • Providing technical support related to occ health, employee safety and environmental policies.
  • Organizing, developing, and supporting site Safety and Environmental Committees.
  • Record keeping, including OSHA and EPA filings, training records and incident data.
  • Providing onsite health and safety support, such as: use and care of monitoring/sampling instrumentation; select, evaluate administrative controls and PPE, as well as engineering controls.
  • Provide technical oversight for safety and health matters on assigned projects.
  • Maintaining strong familiarity with federal regulations, specifically OSHA, EPA and relevant State of NH regulations; ensuring OSHA requirements are followed and prepare the company for audits.
  • Reducing incidents and accidents by developing and implementing a proactive, sound safety program improving operator awareness and formalizing department and managerial safety awareness.
  • Exercising emergency authority to stop and prevent unsafe acts.
  • Developing a comprehensive safety audit system and make recommendations to correct or eliminate potential hazards.
  • Formulating safety policies; following through with programs ensuring sustainment and compliance.
  • Developing, setting-up, and training personnel on required safety and environmental programs.
  • Identify and eliminate all OSHA and EPA at-risk conditions.
  • Supporting maintenance of chemical inventories and oversee SDS's, reports, and related information.
  • Support hazardous waste management program, maintaining manifests and documentation in accordance to state and federal law.

Qualifications

  • BS in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or related science
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced certifications, such as OHST, ASP, CSP, and/or CIH are preferred
  • Sound knowledge of EPA, OSHA and relevant State regulations; position requires an extensive knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health, and safety laws and the ability to operate a variety of specialized measuring and monitoring equipment and computer-based software programs; knowledge of safety statistical measurement methodology
  • Ability to provide training and guidance to employees regarding EHS programs
  • Ability to communicate and interface with all departments and levels of management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated people and business management skills
  • Proven track record of safety improvement at another company
  • Experience with project management, research methods, practices and report writing, and record keeping principles and practices
  • Able to perform all computer functions as they pertain to this job
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully and maintain confidentiality

Pay: $60,000.00 - $83,000.00 per year
