We are currently hiring a Environmental, Health & Safety Manager in Cincinnati, OH .

To manage Brewery regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement of programs related to Environment, Health and Safety as well as site Security.

What You'll Brew:

  • Managerial Responsibilities
    • EHS Technicians, Admin EHS Support Specialist
    • Provide EHS leadership and support for the Cincinnati Brewery
    • Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, training, and retaining of engaged & high-performing coworkers.
    • Ensures that direct reports are provided with clear expectations & direction and are empowered and held accountable to achieve their goals and perform their jobs.
    • Builds a collaborative & results-oriented team by resolving conflicts as they arise, removing roadblocks, inspiring people to action, and helping the team to decide to change and/or make changes.
    • Provides regular and meaningful feedback to coworkers through development, coaching, and comprehensive performance reviews that focuses on learning, growth and continuous improvement.
  • Provide EHS Leadership and Support to other Boston Beer locations as needed
  • Lead compliance, security, ergonomic and industrial hygiene programs across brewery
  • Strengthen site EHS culture through employee engagement, ownership and accountability and behavior-based safety efforts; support LEAN and other process improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills as a member of site management team
  • Conduct compliance audits and reviews necessary to meet company and local compliance requirements to reduce risk liability
  • Implement and execute Brewery EHS programs / processes to attain full compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Drive EHS compliance through training, audits, process/equipment review and proactive risk elimination
  • Institute site injury prevention program to include hazard analysis, JSA, incident / accident investigations, trend analysis, etc.
  • Inform Brewery management team on current activities, significant developments and EHS concerns
  • Work closely with the department managers to coordinate related activities in their respective areas. Cooperate with other personnel of the department to supply information and provide guidance on EHS issues
  • Foster and promote good working relationships with all local, state and government regulatory agencies
  • Provide leadership for brewery-wide sustainability initiatives
  • Provide communication processes to ensure understanding and compliance for all EHS processes
  • Develop and maintain Process Safety Management procedures and audits
  • Develop site security policies and procedures related to physical site security
  • There is frequent exposure production environments:
  • Subject to loud and constant noise
  • Non-environmentally conditioned spaces which may lead to extreme hot and cold
  • Operating environment is complex and densely populated with production equipment and forklifts that necessitates high situational awareness
  • Work overtime as needed which may require 12-hour days, weekends, and holidays
  • There is frequent exposure production environments:
  • Subject to loud and constant noise
  • Non-environmentally conditioned spaces which may lead to extreme hot and cold

What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of EHS experience in industrial setting, regulatory agency, or combination thereof
  • Audit experience or qualifications
  • Strong track record of leading continuous improvement in functional areas
  • 5+ years of experience with regulatory interaction
  • All production roles are required to pass a pre-employment physical exam to comply with their specific role requirement(s)
  • Certain roles may require the use of a respirator and passing the associated fit test
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, sometimes repeatedly
  • Regular walking and standing for long periods of time (up to 11 hours a day) on concrete, metal and grated surfaces
  • Responsibilities may require crouching, stepping over, crawling under, bending, twisting, climbing and reaching above head and shoulders repeatedly throughout the day
  • Responsibilities may require climbing flights of stairs, working from heights or on elevated platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist (Comprehensive Practice preferred) and/or Certified Environmental Professional strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated influencing skills in a team environment workforce
  • Ability to work effectively with site management team and with all levels of management
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certified (preferred)
  • HAZWOPER Certification
  • Demonstrated experience in Root Cause investigation
  • Experience building and implementing a sustainability program
  • Demonstrated success receiving a range of environmental permits
