1. Performs routine cleaning, according to procedure, of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, and clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairwells.

2. Have working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their proper use, and mixture ratios if applicable.

3. Have working knowledge of cleaning and disinfection of a discharge room and bed. Know the procedure for making bed

and replacing supplies needed for clean room.

4. Dust furniture, washes walls, woodwork, blinds, doors and sills. Wash inside windows and light shades.

5. Transport trash and biomedical waste to appropriate disposal area.

6. Replenish supplies, i.e., toilet paper, paper towels, soap and trash bags.

7. Follows all Infection Control practices, including had washing techniques, Standard precautions and isolation precautions.

8. Know how to operate the vacuum cleaners and high speed burnisher. Knows how to clean and maintain machines.

9. Cross trained and able to substitute on the patient floors when needed.

10. Substitute in the Linen Room when needed.

11. Work weekends and holiday rotation or when needed.

12. Ability to work independently with no supervision

13. Maintains a high safety standard within the department
