Completes non-teaching projects or complex work in support of a Campus or University administrative or academic department. This work is generally of a temporary nature and requires specialized experience or expertise.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The State University of New York, Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center provides tuition free academic and workforce development training to eligible New York State residents, providing a pathway to lifelong learning, college access and economic self-sufficiency.

BEOC’s Testing Center administers placement testing, pretests, posttests, and accommodations testing to BEOC applicants and students. Most of the tests are computer-based. BEOC is also an official GED testing site.

The duties of the part-time Testing Coordinator include the following:

  • Administers TABE, GED, and other assessment tests in sessions scheduled at the Center at varied times.
  • Assists in scheduling and administering tests according to guidelines and standards.
  • Conducts testing under standard conditions or with special accommodations for candidates with documented disabilities.
  • Follows established security policies and procedures to ensure academic integrity and a distraction-free testing environment for all candidates.
  • Successfully completes test administrator training and certification as required.
  • Communicates with staff, faculty, students, and applicants to answer questions regarding academic and placement testing.
  • Assists with maintaining student databases and test results.

Schedule: combination of day and evening hours; in-person required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a test proctor or examiner

  • Competency in computer applications including MS Office 365, videoconferencing software, Google Suite

  • Customer-focused, with ability to interact and work well with the public

  • Able to communicate effectively

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

COMPENSATION

46.49/hr
