Job Description:
We are seeking an enthusiastic hard working individual to join our golf course maintenance team. This full time Equipment Manager position is responsible for the complete maintenance program of our golf course equipment. This program includes the repair and upkeep of equipment, purchasing parts and supplies, record keeping of repairs/parts/ and equipment. The Equipment Manager is also responsible for maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building. Communication is extremely important on equipment needs and problems, along with being a key voice on recommendations in equipment upgrades and purchasing decisions.
Requirements:
- A team player that will work closely with the Superintendent and crew to assist in improving the overall productivity and quality of our maintenance operation.
- Growing your knowledge of the game of golf and understanding the impact the equipment managers position can effect course conditions.
- Must have a knowledge of hazards and safety standards of the profession. Not limited to safe handling of chemicals, proper use of designed safety features, and providing a safe working environment for all employees.
- Assist in training crew on using and safe operation of equipment.
- Inspects, diagnosis and repairs equipment defects and failures of all maintenance equipment including; diesel/gas/electric powered equipment, mowers, rollers, pumps, blowers, as well as many golf course specific equipment.
- Adjusting and sharpening reels and mower blades.
- Daily inspection of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Preventive equipment maintenance plan, to be proactive in addressing equipment needs before failures during operation.
- Spot checking equipment on the golf course and making adjustments as necessary.
- Keeps a complete set of records including; equipment service repairs, parts and inventory purchases, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Oversees the condition and appearance of the equipment, maintenance, and storage areas.
- Involved in on course maintenance processes as directed by the Superintendent
- 2-3 years of experience
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
