Thurston County Hauling, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate position available for a Heavy Equipment Operator at our Transfer Station in Lacey, WA.

In addition to running a forklift you will be trained to run other equipment such as front-end loaders, excavators, and the trash compactor. Pay will be $26-$34/hr depending on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operating heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, excavators, forklifts, and other medium to heavy equipment in accordance with all OSHA, state and federal requirements
• Regularly inspecting equipment, and performing minor repairs and maintenance as required
• Safety of vehicle, equipment, and load Moving waste from the Transfer Site collection area to transfer trailer in preparation for transport to the Landfill
• Ensuring all customer interactions by Operator are polite and courteous; may be required to greet, direct, discuss issues, and educate customers of onsite rules and restrictions
• Following all appropriate safety guidelines and precautions, wearing required safety gear, and maintaining a neat and professional appearance at all times
• Performing other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to learn to operate the equipment and be coachable
• Some heavy equipment operating experience preferred, but not required.
