Assisted Living Program Administrator

We are seeking an exceptionally qualified individual to serve as the Executive Director. You will be responsible for selecting and inspiring a management team whose purpose will be to effectively address the needs, pleasures, and preferences of our clients and their families. You must absolutely lead by example in order to imbue this profound sense of privilege and service, ideally balancing client quality of life with the business objectives of the community.

As the Executive Director, you have financial responsibility and must keep expenses and team member needs in line with revenue flow and profitability goals. The ability to maintain, analyze and adjust the community budget is essential. Meeting with families, attending food committee and client council sessions, and organizing staff functions during the workday and in the evening are all critical to the success of the community. You will be expected to demonstrate a complete awareness of the outreach organizations in the immediate area to successfully promote the name of our community.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Providing input and assisting with preparing all operating and capital budgets
  • Maintaining timely financial, marketing and other statistical reports, as directed, to the corporate office, including but not limited to census and turnover reporting
  • Leading the entire community’s operations, including physical space, team members, client relations, community relations, marketing, food service, housekeeping, activities and wellness
  • Overseeing the management of all buildings and grounds in a manner consistent with management policies, safety considerations and regulatory requirements, including supervising and following up on all preventative maintenance systems and programs requiring frequent inspection
  • Maintaining and updating knowledge of governmental statutes and regulations impacting operations of the community in order to continue meeting licensure, registration and certification of the community
  • Interviewing, hiring, training, overseeing, evaluating, promoting and terminating key team members
  • Overseeing the interviewing, hiring, orientation, training/education, evaluation, promotion and termination of the Heads of Departments
  • Providing the time to complete the 2nd interview for all team member applicants, ensuring that all team members are hired based on their ability and competency in performing the job in accordance with written job descriptions
  • Determining and ensuring quality of team members and maintaining sufficient coverage levels, completion of employee files, and adherence to Federal, State, and local labor regulations
  • Delegating responsibility and authority to other community team members where appropriate
  • Maintaining team member morale and loyalty at a high level, by authorizing employee events, keeping team members well informed and conveying personnel policies
  • Creating an open-door policy for team members, allowing the time to be available for meetings, conferences and addressing concerns
  • Cultivating an environment where team members can grow professionally
  • Allocating funds, authorizing expenditures and controlling expenses in accordance with established budget with the goal of continuously ensuring optimal profitability
  • Maintaining an active relationship with the residents through individual and group interaction, such as meeting regularly with them at monthly client Council sessions and responding appropriately and in a timely manner to the issues and concerns they raise
  • Creating and maintaining an atmosphere of caring, stability and peace, where the personal dignity of our client is always championed, and residents are encouraged to live as closely as possible, and as practical, to how they have been accustomed
  • Being fully responsible for executing proper emergency and evacuation procedures, as well as responding to clients, their families, and team members, and ensuring community safety and readiness for all cases of emergency
  • Developing marketing solutions for sustaining maximum occupancy levels
  • Participating in the regulatory processes mandated by legislative and governmental agencies
  • Representing the community and the company in a positive manner and maintaining and inspiring an image of social propriety and professional excellence at all times

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with emphasis on long-term care or health administration, geriatrics, management or some business-related degree
  • Must have between 5-10 years of experience in health care or at least two (2) years of related work experience must be of a supervisory capacity
  • Convey the cool and calm demeanor of a leader and be able to excel smoothly and effectively despite frequent distractions and shifting priorities
  • Possess a thorough understanding of Department of Health regulations and guidelines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
