Job Description


General Summary

Responsible for assisting patients with mobility task and therapeutic walks per provider order and under the direction of nursing. Also support clinical teams with safe patient handling and mobility knowledge and performance.


Principal Responsibilities and Tasks


The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified.


  • Providing and prioritizing therapeutic walks per early mobility program.
  • Provides patient education and ADL’s when deemed competent
  • Establishes an open line of communication with staff regarding patient condition and performance
  • Adheres to infection control standards
  • Responds effectively in an emergency situation to address the patient’s immediate needs

Documents patient care following departmental policies and guidelines.


Qualifications
  • 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • BLS Certification
  • Exercise Specialist Certification-ACSM (Preferred)
