Activar Construction Products Group (ACPG) manufactures and distributes thousands of products for the commercial construction industry.
We are currently hiring FT or PT Experienced Amada Turret Operators for our Weekend shift!
We offer flexible weekend schedules, both full-time and part-time between the hours of 5am – 5:30pm Fri-Sun.
Our typical weekend shift runs Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 5:00am - 5:30pm
Pay: up to $26.00/hr., our weekend shift (Fri-Sun) also pays an 11.11% premium of your base hourly wage. If you transfer from weekend shift, you will no longer be eligible for the premium rate.
This position is responsible for setting up and operating turret press to load program, set up tooling, load blanks, unload products, and complete all required production paperwork according to job specifications.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Sets up and operates turret press to load program, set up tooling, load blanks, unload product, and complete all required production paperwork according to job specifications
- Assembles, installs, and aligns punches/dies in press according to specifications, using feelers, shims, bolts, clamps, and wrenches.
- May adjust ram stroke to specified length, including positioning work piece against clamps or stops on machine bed.
- Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
- Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications, visually or by use of gauges or templates, and adjust machine to correct errors.
- Programming may be done by computer.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager any and all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, and/or quality.
- Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company standards and policies.
- Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic mechanical principles of machine setups, operations, and materials.
- Requires general knowledge of sheet metal fabricating and assembly practices.
- Ability to operate machines including, but not limited to bar code reader, computer terminal, other electronic devices, and forklift.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and the capacity to learn new systems.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and effective organizational skills.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships.
- Ability to execute in a rapidly changing fast paced environment that requires strong teamwork.
- Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.
- Basic ability to understand blueprints, schematics, and instrumentation diagrams.
- Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
