Experiential Learning Coordinator
Job description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The Office of Career Preparation and Experiential Learning is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to assist with further developing service-learning and related opportunities at the college. Reporting to the Experiential Learning Manager, this position works closely with faculty to integrate relevant service projects into courses, coordinate project logistics, and support volunteer and community engagement initiatives on and off campus. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, passionate about engaging students in community service, and have previous experience in project management or in community organizing. This is a part-time, twenty-five hours per week position and candidates should have some evening/weekend flexibility.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet with students to discuss their interests and career goals, and help place them in appropriate experiential learning opportunities
- Track partnerships, student interest, experiential learning placements, faculty involvement, and other data deemed appropriate
- Create and expand upon existing community partnerships
- Develop and strengthen experiential learning resources and materials specific to the institution, including regular updates to the program website
- Schedule and facilitate faculty work-group meetings and webinar trainings
- Organize campus-wide and community-wide events that promote student opportunities, including career and experiential learning exploration fairs and workshops.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders at the college and in the community to achieve the program’s goals
OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, well-organized, and passionate about engaging students in community service.
- Ability to multitask and handle a wide range of duties on a daily basis is a must.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Google Workspace applications.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, relevant experience may be substituted
Experience Required:
- Previous experience in project management, volunteer coordination, community service leadership, or education preferred.
- Experience working with college students and managing partnerships.
Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements:
Flexible scheduling with some weekend and evening hours required.
INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:
Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
