About the Job
- Work directly with Men's Design, Product Development and Merchandising to understand, interpret and execute key seasonal fabric developments that meet aesthetic requirements and are in line with sourcing strategy and cost targets for managed areas.
- Drives newness and innovation for the men's business through raw material sourcing and development in partnership with the Innovation Team and key strategic suppliers.
- Execute seasonal fabric development briefs from both Design and the Innovation Pipeline into bulk ready fabrics that meet LS&Co. fabric standards and adhere to the timelines, sourcing strategy and costing targets
- Oversee all fabric testing and concessions; Identify potential production, quality and costing issues, and make recommendations to mitigate risk.
- Lead weekly cross functional fabric meetings for managed categories; ensure fabric approval and documentation to all business partners to meet sampling and production deadlines
- Lead seasonal fabric rationalization efforts.
- Challenge business partners when appropriate to prevent re-work, redundancies, and inefficiency
- This is an in-person role, based in the SF Headquarters building
About You
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in the apparel industry
- 5+ years managing fabric development
- Expertise in denim and non-denim fabric structures required
- Expertise in denim and non-denim wash methods preferred
- Knowledge of fabric construction standards and manufacturing methods
- Working knowledge of garment manufacturing process.
- Comfortable with technology; ability to learn and use new/advanced technology
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage change and shift priorities based on evolving business requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively to a globally diverse audience
- Ability to drive differing viewpoints to consensus
- Ability to utilize technical expertise to level-set expectations for developments
The expected starting salary range for this role is $76,000 - $119,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance and business needs.
