Facility Maintenance Technician

An international food company is seeking a qualified Facility Maintenance Technician who has maintenance experience in the factory/building/hotel/school/hospital environment. 1-2years of experience is welcome but if no experience but has technical certificate/degree, will train entry level.

Must have knowledge of: Electrical wiring, HVAC, plumbing

Location: Somerset, New Jersey

Direct Hire/ Non-Exempt

Shift Schedule: 5 days out of Monday to Sunday (one weekend and 4 weekdays)

ROTATING SHIFT HOURS: (will be rotated 1 months each after probation)

1st: 6:00 am - 3:00 pm

2nd: 2:00pm - 11:00 am

During 3 months’ probation period, the hour will be 8:00am-5:00pm

Salary: $17 -20/hr

Job Description

• Follow safety rules and pay attention to safety maintenance work
• Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair
• Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
• Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
• Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
• Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof
• Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
• Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnosing, inspecting for the factory
• Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations
• Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions
• Work effectively with other team members

Job Requirements

• High school diploma with 1-2 years of experience
• Maintenance facility experience in the factory/building/hotel/school/hospital environment is welcome.
• 1-2years of experience is welcome but if no experience but has technical certificate/degree, will train entry level.
• Electrical wiring, HVAC, plumbing knowledge
• Plumbing, wiring, welding, and drilling knowledge
• Microsoft application (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams)

Working Environment

• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Generally the job requires walking / standing
• Occasional exposure to hot/humid or cold temperatures
• Exposure to distracting/uncomfortable noise levels in the factory

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
