JCC MetroWest in West Orange, NJ is seeking a full-time Facilities Technician. Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of our facility. All work performed by the Facilities Technician prioritizes the health and safety of the members, visitors and staff of JCC MetroWest, and anticipates the needs and provides what is needed to keep all areas of the building running smoothly and efficiently.

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

• Complete repair Work Orders
• Respond to radio calls
• Prepare and set up spaces for meetings and events
• Receive and put away supplies and other deliveries
• Change batteries, wipes, and sanitizer in dispensers and fill water bottles as needed
• Empty all outside trash barrels including playgrounds and garage
• Replace light bulbs, light switches, flushometers, toilettes, and sinks as needed
• Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned as needed

COMPETENCIES / QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to work independently and with others in a team
• Ability to use good, sound judgment
• Ability to adjust to changing priorities and needs of the building
• Ability to communicate at a basic level and take direction in English
• Previous experience in maintenance of a large facility and providing set-up/breakdown for events preferred but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs (e.g., carry large, full trash bags)
• Must be able to lift, pull, climb, kneel and bend
• Must be able to stay on feet the majority of the day
• Must be able to move easily around areas of the building
