FDY, Inc., a Food Service Management Company is seeking lively and energetic individuals to join our growing team and be a part of our newest venture. We are seeking EXPERIENCED full-time and or part-time applicants to serve as a Cook in a Virtual Kitchen (The Young Kitchen). The Virtual Kitchen will operate seven days a week.
The cook will prepare meals and follow the required recipes. Their duties may include preparing ingredients, adhering to the menu, and recipe, and following food health and safety procedures. The applicant will cook, clean, and assist other cooks and staff in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties:
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- Collaborate with the Chef and cooks to prepare meals during our operating hours
- Assist in maintaining accurate food inventories
- Prepare ingredients and meals while maintaining a clean and safe workplace
- Cook orders according to food specification
- Prepare multiple food orders at one time
- Maintain quality food presentation
- Safely store food items at appropriate temperatures
- Rotate stock items as per established procedures
- Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
- Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are clean and sanitized at the end of the shift
- Operate with a sense of urgency
- Adhere to all required safety and sanitation protocols
- Comply with Company uniform, appearance, and operational standards as defined in the Associate Handbook.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must be an excellent team member and should have the ability to work with multiple groups of people.
- Should have experience working in an established Restaurant
- Must be able to read and follow standardized recipes
- Must have strong food handler procedures
- Must be or in process of being ServSafe certified
- Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
- Should be technologically savvy and understand how to use our systems to fulfill orders
- Must be friendly, and engaging, and must possess superb customer service skills.
- Must provide 110% customer satisfaction.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace and have a sense of urgency.
- Physically able to stand for an extended period and lift approximately 50lbs
- Must be able to work complete scheduled shifts with excellent attendance and punctuality.
Education
- Prefer applicants with servsafe certificate or a food service handlers' certificate
- High School Degree, any other additional culinary certification
- Prefer applicant that has worked in a food service restaurant rather than fast-food restaurants
