Municipal Analyst

Job Description

FHN Financial is seeking a Municipal Analyst in the firm’s Memphis, TN office. The Analyst will work within the Product Strategies Group.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance FHN Financial’s database of issuer financial and economic information
• Develop a proficiency in municipal financial statement analysis and be able to discuss issuer financial performance with sales representatives
• Assist in the design and build of new products to analyze risks and opportunities in municipal securities
• Coordinate with the Public Finance Group to assist in the issuer RFP process
• Cross-train with other Product Strategies Groups to gain exposure to other product areas including corporate, mortgage-backed, and agency securities as well as responsibilities within the Economics Group

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, computer science, or comparable area
• Self-directed worker with minimal need for daily instruction on key tasks
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail working within sell-side, trading floor conditions
• Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks as market shifts alter priorities and work flow

• Interest in the application of new technologies to enhance credit and market analysis

• Proficiency in programming language such as Python or R preferred
