Fidessa QA Team Lead – Equity Middle Office products

Duration: 6-month contract conversion to perm

Location: midtown NYC / 3 days onsite mandatory

Rate: $800 C2C /$700 W2 (medical/dental/vision benefits available)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Team lead and strong advocate of QA process with IT stakeholders
• Works with system product managers, developers and end-users to identify types of tests to be performed
• Works with system product managers to gather details about testing priorities and upcoming pipeline in addition to managing in process work
• Manage testing queue if an offshore team and proactively make sure there is adequate offshore test coverage during offshore holidays
• Prepare of test plan / strategy document for various types of testing
• Test effort estimation
• Create test scenarios, test cases, automation scripts (if applicable)
• Prepare requirement traceability matrix (RTM)
• Execute tests as per plan
• Document test results, and log defects for failed cases
• Map defects to test cases in RTM
• Retest the defect fixes
• Track the defects to closure
• Produce test closure reports to support SDLC change management documentation
• Make sure test scripts for current release are fully documented for future regression. use by testers without domain expertise
• Keep test scripts catalog up to date

Desired Experience/ Skills:

• Experience in trading and allocation lifecycle for high touch and low touch cash equity and equity Swap lifecycle from front office trading through middle office allocation with strong focus on post trade processing of the trading and allocation lifecycle
• System integration of internal and third-party vendor systems linked together that cover front office trading through middle office allocation
• Knowledge of ULINK as a fix gateway and Fidessa as a high touch OMS and allocating platform
• Knowledge of FIX protocol for trading and allocation and CTM for allocation
• Strong ability to anticipate, analyze and resolve issues in a time sensitive manner with minimal supporting documentation
• Impressive combination as an independent doer and collaborative team lead with stakeholders in fast paced deliverables
• Forceful and attentive talent resource manager that inspires and creates strong effective teams
• Driven to succeed, quickly gains confidence of colleagues and encourages talent development
• Thrives in multitask environment and possesses sound organization skills
• Experience and in-depth understanding of the Software Testing principles.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Understanding the user requirements and application capabilities by reading BRD, FSD and application user manuals.
• Good knowledge of Unix, Windows, and SQL.
• Defect Management – Articulation of defects in detailed manner, assigning defects to technical teams, capturing target fix dates and resolution comments from IT
• Co-ordinate with Project/ Program managers with clear communications.
• Ability to drive the project Initiatives on your own. Plan and execute activities based on project milestones and independently manage communications.
• Adept at providing Testing, Technical and Domain expertise by guidance to team.
• Excellent communication, presentation skills and problem-solving skills.
• HP ALM / qTest Highly desirable

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $700.00 - $800.00 per day
