POSITION OVERVIEW:

Delta Fuel Company is dedicated to recruiting a strong financial based, self-starter, process-oriented professional to join our team as a Financial Analyst. This position will provide day-to-day accounting leadership and best practice training for our regional operations across southern regions. The Analyst works with people throughout the organization to identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve business processes, decision support tools, and reporting. This position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Natchez, MS. Some travel will be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor sales order processing; ensure timely and accurate completion
  • Collaborate with management teams on developing standardized operating procedures and documenting best practice guides
  • Host regional trainings for new/existing team members as needed, and monitor adherence to standardized operating processes; some onsite travel required
  • Serve as liaison between operations, sales and accounting teams
  • Process customer invoices as needed; ensure recorded, posted, and distributed daily
  • Process customer credit/rebill transactions for invoicing errors as needed
  • Perform customer account research (invoices, payments, etc.)
  • Monitor customer accounts; assist collections department as needed
  • Ensure inventory movements are recorded, validated, and posted daily
  • Verify physical inventory counts are performed daily for branch locations
  • Record and reconcile physical inventories to system perpetual values
  • Perform daily reconciliations of counter sale drawer receipts and bank deposits
  • Collaborate with accounting team to conduct financial period closing procedures and account reconciliations
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or similar role
  • Previous experience with the petroleum products industry a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Comfortable with deadlines and achieving targets or goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel periodically for onsite training and face-to-face meetings with regional teams
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently with attention to details
  • Strong organization skills and ability to multitask
