Job description

Haskell is looking for a Fitter - team member for our Steel Shop in Jacksonville, FL. This resource will need to have the ability to read shop fabrication drawings, tack welding, know fabrication means, methods, tools, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
• Tack welds parts to secure in position for welding.
• May assemble parts by bolting.
• Ability to read shop drawings
• May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand-tools.
• Ability to perform moderate physical work, may be required to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly, climbing on and balancing on ladders, scaffolding, or stairs; performing such activities as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting and grasping for up to five (3) hours without sitting.

​Qualifications:

• Previous experience in steel fabrication
• Familiarity with tools necessary for fabrication
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings
• Ability to handle physical workload

Education/Experience: Four years of experience

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.

• Work within industry standard dimensional tolerances
• Look at flat drawings, pictures, and blueprints and visualize how they would look as solid objects with height, width, and depth
• Work easily and skillfully with hands.
• Ability to comprehend weld procedures and weld symbols
• Regular attendance, prompt and dependable
• Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently
