Shift / Weekly Hours: 6-8 hours per day / 30-40 hours per week

The Shop Hands at Young Supply Company are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the fleet center. They are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the Fleet Center yard, garage and parking lot by removing debris, emptying trash and pressure washing to keep areas neat, tidy and organized.

Responsibilities include:

• Detailed cleaning of the break rooms, offices, restrooms and kitchen
• Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and floor scrubbing (using a walk behind or ride on floor scrubber)
• Cleaning workbenches, tools, work areas, parts room and shelving
• Collect all trash for proper designated disposal as well as maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
• Move vehicles in and out of the garage and service bays
• Use company vehicles to pick up parts, and fill vehicles with fuel or deliver to outside maintenance facilities
• Deliver vehicles to Young Supply Company locations in Michigan and Northern Ohio
• Interior and exterior cleaning of vehicles, including washing, drying, vacuuming and interior detailing.

Additional duties include checking in parts and putting them away. Shop Hands also monitor supply inventory and notify management to refill as needed. All tools and uniforms are provided.

Other Roles & Functions: Shop Hands are expected to perform other duties to assist in the cleanliness and organization of the Fleet Center at the discretion of their supervisors. They are expected to be able to use ladders or lifts to reach high areas while performing inventory and/or cleaning and organizing, and forklifts, pallet jacks and hand carts to load and unload items in the shop.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid state-issued Driver License and acceptable driving record
• Desire to learn about different fleet mechanics
• Strong ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions
• Strong commitment to health and safety guidelines
• Strong organizational skills

Preferred:

• Willing to obtain Chauffeur License
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Good communication skills
