Location: Sumner, WA
Position: Floorworker
Pay: $28.93/hr starting pay
Shift: 12 hour rotating shift - 4 days on and 4 days off - while working your 4 days on, you will work 2 days on day shift (7am - 7pm) and then 2 days on night shift (7pm - 7am)
The Sumner, WA paper mill has an opening for a floor worker. This position is responsible for collaborating and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. This is an entry level position. Safety, quality, productivity and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture. This is a union mill.
What you'll be doing:
- Work 12 hour shifts on a rotating schedule.
- Collect and dispose of trash each shift
- Support housekeeping throughout the mill
- Assist the crew in handling finished product for shipment
- Remove scrap paper in a timely manner to ensure safe machine operations
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
- Support mill operations as needed
- Work as directed

- Lift 50 pounds
- Arrive to work on time with a strong attendance record
- Previous manufacturing experience and/or training
- Read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring
- Forklift experience
