General Responsibilities:

UAB is a 1200+ bed organization serving over 3000 daily patient meals and this position has the responsibility to manage food service production operations for patient food. To work to achieve departmental financial objectives. To participate in the department's Quality Improvement Program. To interview, hire, train, evaluate, discipline and discharge subordinate personnel as needed.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manages patient food service operations. Oversees and updates departmental policies and procedures as needed.
• Remains in the departmental budget to achieve financial objectives.
• Administers appropriate personnel functions including interviewing, training, evaluating, and disciplining personnel.
• Participates in departmental Quality Improvement Program.
• Maintains and approves applicable records, reports and time keeping.
• Responsible for driving employee engagement to ensure a positive work environment for all employees.
• Ensures department follows all organizational standards for diversity and inclusion efforts for both employees and patient meal services so that cultural differences are respected.
• Works with the department Director, Executive Chef, Production Manager, and Supervisors to ensure quality metrics are met while delivering a positive patient experience.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Food Service Administration or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations: Currently licensed as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Alabama State Board of Examiners for Dietetics (BOED) preferred.

Salary Range: $73,944.00 - $120,120.00
