Hartford Truck Equipment is looking to immediately fill a fulltime Forklift Operator to join our growing Yard team. The right candidate will excel in a fast paced, some time hectic atmosphere while still maintaining a high level of awareness and detail.

The Position:

The Forklift operator will be working side by side with another operator to load and unload merchandise that includes Truck bodies and other large equipment, plows, sanders, and other miscellaneous palletized merchandise. Job duties will include:

· Offloading of trailers of product and equipment.

· Ensuring inbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

· Stage equipment and parts for upcoming jobs

· Maintaining and organizing warehouse, parts areas, shop, and storage yard

· Use a pick sheet to find individual items and equipment.

· Ensure item pick accuracy and safety of product to prevent damage.

· Moving and organizing equipment

· Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.

· Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner

· Other duties as assigned

The Requirements:

· Forklift certified with at least 2 years of experience.

· You must have the ability to operate a forklift in all weather conditions.

· Ability to be constantly standing, walking, riding, carrying, twisting, bending, and balancing.

· Situation awareness is a must! Know your surroundings.

· Must have a valid license and a clean driving record.

· Must have reliable transportation to and from work in all weather conditions.

· Flexibility to work overtime when needed.

· Takes initiative to complete tasks without being told directly.

· Ability to read, write and speak English.

· Access to a smart device for interdepartmental communication

· Experience with mechanics and equipment operation

· Must be able to communicate in an effective, helpful, and friendly manner with co-workers, vendors, and customers.

The Benefits:

Salary starts at $17 and hour with OT (average work weeks are 50 hours)
