Freelance Copywriter Job Description
Freelance or contract copywriters will work with the manager of marketing operations, creative services lead/editor, digital marketing lead, and digital strategists to write digital content. Experience in health care writing is preferred.
The writer will conduct high-level research on a wide variety of health topics, interview subject matter experts, and based on this information, author web content that’s useful and easy to read. They will work under the guidance of the creative services lead/editor.
Candidates should have experience following corporate style, voice and tone guidelines, in addition to being familiar with the AP Stylebook.
The position could require 10 to 15 hours a week. Applicants must submit three writing samples.

Required qualifications include:
- Minimum of two years of professional writing experience
- Working knowledge of marketing techniques for consumers, physicians and referral sources
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, including experience with interviewing subject matter experts
- Outstanding planning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize/complete multiple assignments concurrently required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite software programs
- A consistent writing style that is pleasant, positive and polite
- Keen ability to learn and adapt to new software
- Experience working within a project management system
Preferred qualifications include:
- Related experience within a health care setting
- Basic understanding of search engine optimization (SEO)
- Basic understanding of web accessibility standards, specifically readability standards
- Bachelor’s degree
