Job description

The primary responsibility of the Delivery Driver is to drive truck established route to deliver products to customers and perform the following duties:

Duties:

• Read customer delivery form and receipts to determine items to be gathered, or to select already gathered items for delivery to customer
• Convey items from receiving area or offsite warehouse to deliver to customer
• Load truck; insure that product is properly padded and tied to prevent damage
• May collect COD money from customer
• Deliver and place product
• Assemble some product on delivery site
• Listen to and communicate with customers, report service complaints to management.
• Pick up returned merchandise from customer
• Operate forklift, pallet jack and use of flatbed carts and hand trucks to transport stored items from warehouse to truck or truck to warehouse
• Maintain a clean delivery vehicle, report truck maintenance or service related issues to management
• Maintain a neat appearance. Present a polite attitude to customer and co-workers.
• Help maintain, clean, organized warehouse under direction.
• Help to receive shipments and warehouse them.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
• High school degree, some college preferred
• Experience in a retail environment preferred
• Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to customers and employees in organization.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently
• Ability to load and unload trucks in a safe manner
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business
• Must have good driving record

Physical Requirements:

• Move and handle boxes of merchandise, various furniture and other items, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth
• Must be able to operate heavy machinery
• Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 80 pounds.

Must be available evenings and weekends.
