Full time associate veterinarian position in a very busy 2 doctor privately owned small animal (cat and dog) practice located in Manorville, NY, toward the east end of Long Island. Excellent support staff and clientele. Referrals to specialists and emergency facilities as needed. Four-day work week plus alternating Saturdays. No Sundays or overnight/on call. Six holiday days when hospital will be closed. May be one evening hour per week. We strive to be personable, friendly, and compassionate. New client/puppy/kitten appointments ideally 45 minutes. Client education is very important. Regular appointments typically 30 minutes. Recheck appointments as doctor deems necessary. Many appointments as technician/assistant, such as nail trims and laser therapy. We use Avimark as our practice software. We strive to keep our fees reasonable, and our drug and prescription diets prices competitive or better than online companies. New ideas and techniques are welcome and encouraged. Practice medicine like we used to when we first started and before corporations took over. We are very family oriented with many multi-generation clients and are a proud member of our wonderful community. Position suited to a person who genuinely loves animals and his or her profession as we do.

Applicant must be a graduate veterinarian in good standing and licensed in New York. Applicant must be friendly, competent and comfortable communicating with clients and staff and must have excellent medical and surgical skills. Applicant must be comfortable making his or her own decisions and be able to work independently, but also be able to help others as needed. Applicant must be dedicated to the welfare of our patients. There is ownership potential if desired by the right candidate. Experience preferred but new graduates considered.
