Position Title: Custodian
Purpose: To assist in providing satisfactory maintenance and appearance of Trinity Lutheran Church, and assisting in preparing the facility for activities under the direction of the Custodial Property Manager.

Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Accountable to: Custodial Property Manager
Qualifications: Two-years custodial/maintenance or similar work experience.
Hours: Flexible Scheduling with occasional Evening and Weekend hours

Essential Functions:

A. Perform janitorial duties including vacuuming, dusting, washing windows, cleaning restrooms, cleaning and polishing floors, mowing, shoveling/snowblowing.

B. Maintain inventory of cleaning/physical plant supplies, submitting order to custodial property manager as needed to keep supplies stocked.

C. Responsible for room set-ups and clean-up for scheduled activities.

D. Provide building security by opening and/or locking interior and exterior doors of the building.

E. Work in a spirit of cooperation with other staff and members of the congregation.

F. Other duties as assigned.

G. Positively support the Mission of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to multi-task and work under pressure and maintain composure. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to continuously use hands for simple and firm grasping, fine manipulation, and keyboarding. Occasionally the employee will be required to lift and carry 25-50 lbs, push, pull, squat, kneel, stoop, twist upper body, bend. Frequent verbal communication.
