Garage Supervisor – The City of Radford is seeking a Garage Supervisor for the Public Works Department. The successful candidate will perform difficult technical work and intermediate administrative work in the servicing, maintenance and repair of automotive and construction equipment. The Garage Supervisor reports to the Director of Public Works and supervises a small crew. Garage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the inspection, maintenance and repair of all City of Radford vehicles and equipment; maintaining parts inventory; evaluating municipal fleet requirements and making recommendations. High school diploma or GED in conjunction with course work in heavy and light equipment maintenance and extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive and construction equipment with considerable supervisory experience. Must possess ASE refrigerant license, state inspection certification and air brake certification. Starting salary will depend upon qualifications + an excellent benefits package that includes enrollment in VRS and 100% employer paid insurance for employee medical and dental with no deductible.
