The General Facility & Grounds Maintenance Tech position is to support the care and upkeep of our KY Newman Tractor locations, including family farm and businesses. This position is fast-paced and covers many responsibilities for the care of our locations as listed in the responsibilities. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is self-driven, organized, detail-orientated, has excellent time management, and is an effective communicator. Individuals interested in this position should possess an outstanding work ethic and be able to work with minimal supervision to accomplish the needs of the position.

• Maintain grounds by mowing with ride or push mower, trimming and edging all trees and shrubs, maintain landscapes by mulching, pulling weeds, thinning, leaf clean-up, and cleaning of flower beds. Weed edge all properties and fence lines.
• Maintenance and repair of minor plumbing and electrical issues at all locations
• Keep all locations and facilities clean and free of trash and debris
• Maintain and make minor repairs at all locations within skill set for family farm and businesses. Includes but is not limited to painting, cleaning, organizing, fence mending, barn repairs, light fixtures, etc.
• Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment including but not limited to tractors, mowers, trimmers, edgers, etc.
• Deliver round hay bales to specific locations by using a farm tractor
• Maintain and repair all fences
• Use bushhog to maintain land
• Maintain excellent communication with barn faculty
• Ability to prioritize work based on needs and weather
• Pick up needed supplies to maintain responsibilities

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience performing similar work
• Experience and ability in operating electrical, battery, and gasoline powered groundskeeping equipment and machines such as mowers, blowers, trimmers, etc.
• Experience and ability in using small hand and power tools
• Ability and comfortable hauling equipment between locations by way of truck and trailer.
• Experience and ability with minor repairs of equipment used and when to suggest professional repair
• Good judgement when purchasing supplies to maintain responsibilities
• Ability to lift and carry groundskeeping supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 100 pounds on occasion
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, some stairs
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Willingness to work outdoors in all seasons and do other duties during winter months

Working Conditions

This full-time on-site position covers all KY locations in Union, Richwood, and Verona. Full-time is a commitment of 40 hours/week and includes travel between locations and picking up needed supplies. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm with flexibility. This position is paid weekly on an hourly basis. All necessary items to fulfill job duties will be provided by Newman Tractor.
