Summary

The Aberdeen Tap is an established neighborhood bar with a great team and band of regulars already in place. We're seeking a General Manager that is excited about bringing their experience in to uphold standards, support the staff, and continue to grow our bar. This is a hybrid position that involves bartending or serving and managing. This person would ideally begin as soon as possible to get experience alongside our current GM while working bartending or serving shifts until the transition and training is fully complete.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing and managing all areas of the bar
• Taking shifts as a bartender or server regularly
• Inventory and order appropriate restaurant supplies i.e. liquor, food, linen, paper goods, cleaning supplies, general restaurant supplies etc.
• Work closely with the Kitchen Manager on BOH/FOH communication and menus
• Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs
• Responsible for ensuring that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances
• Recruit, interview, and oversee training of new employees.
• Prepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed appropriately for all shifts
• Plan and execute promotional events
• Identify, address and document individual employee performance problems. Discipline and/or terminate as necessary
• Lead by example. Maintain a positive, pleasant attitude every shift
• Own basic bar and building maintenance

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of high volume bar/restaurant General Management experience
• Serving and bartending experience
• Bassett certified
• ServSafe Manager and Allergen certified
• Strong communication skills
• Advanced beer, wine, and spirits knowledge

• 50k base salary
