We?re opening a new location in Palm Springs! Tailwashers Pet Salon and Tailwaggers Pet Supplies have been a staple in the Los Angeles community for 20 years, and we?re now excited to expand to Palm Springs with our new location also offering pet boarding services!

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our soon to open grooming salon and pet boarding facilities. The successful candidate will manage and supervise a team of staff, oversee HR issues, and provide excellent customer service to our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Manage and supervise a team of staff to maintain Tailwashers policies, procedures, and standards.

• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Salon, daycare, and grooming facilities

• Oversee the training and development of all staff, especially with regard to customer service, safety, product knowledge, and grooming/bathing practices.

• Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing customer service issues promptly and efficiently.

• Schedule and staff the salon, boarding facilities, and doggie daycare including covering shifts if needed due to staffing issues.

• Ensure proper booking of appointments and oversee the functions of our POS system.

• Promote and grow the business through overseeing promotions and sales.

• Ensure the profitability of the business by reviewing profit and loss reports and working to make Tailwashers profitable.

• Work closely with and report regularly to our Executive Management team to maintain the quality and direction of Tailwashers Palm Springs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of dog behavior and safety.

• Previous experience managing and supervising a team.

• Previous grooming, bathing, boarding, or other pet-industry experience

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

• Ability to work in a noisy environment with dogs barking.

• Willingness to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

• Knowledge of applicable POS systems (knowing Gingr is a plus!)

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time

• Ability to work in a noisy environment with lots of dogs
