Pinnacle EMS GIS Analyst is responsible for executing projects relating to geospatial applications and the data that enables them. Overseen by the Director of Geospatial and Data Solutions, work includes but is not limited to creating geospatial maps for business objective enablement, managing spatial datasets, and operating with good project management fundamentals.
The GIS Analyst's responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical GIS expertise to multi-disciplinary projects and digitalization activities, including map production, geospatial analysis, data visualization, and worldwide dataset sourcing and validation.
  • Responsible for supporting the strategic business objectives of clients by providing GIS solution design and maintenance services.
  • Aggregation, evaluation, and creation of datasets for geospatial purposes, including locating missing required metadata, enforcing strong relational integrity of data, and utilizing tools to scrape or translate additional data to enrich the geospatial analysis.
  • Project management and teamwork fundamentals, including ensuring work product meets requirements, proactively communicating about progress and deadlines, and following property documentation and versioning procedures.
  • Utilizing a variety of tools for meeting project objectives, including but not limited to, creation of web maps using ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online; configuring mobile GIS data collection apps (Survey 123, Collector and Field Maps), and creating scripts and tools that automate tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comprehensive experience and knowledge of enterprise data systems, geospatial tools, and project management, demonstrated by a combination of experience and certification or degree
  • Knowledge of and experience with ESRI ArcGIS software to create, digitize, edit and manage datasets, GIS software to produce figures and analysis (ArcGIS Pro), ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online and associated web and data collection applications; and ArcGIS mobile applications
  • Knowledge of database and data query methods, along with basic knowledge of scripting, including Basic knowledge of Modelbuilder, python and the ArcPy library; Awareness of ETL tools such as FME for data conversion and manipulation; Experience of integrating non-GIS enterprise data sources into GIS ready formats (SQL, Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • Ability to travel by airline for meetings and presentations to support client needs (possible International Travel)
  • Ability to work non-standard hours to facilitate collaboration with global client base
  • Work requires extensive knowledge of business communications and an excellent command of the English language, both oral and written, for contact with environmental engineers, state regulators, contractors, and subcontractors. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to clients
  • Must know a variety of computer software applications and can learn proprietary in-house systems and client relationship management systems (CRM). MS Office Suites (Word, PowerPoint emphasizing strong Excel skills)
  • Must have high interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
  • Work requires an aptitude for working with attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, documents, and claims, as well as excellent organizational skills
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work with limited supervision
  • Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills with excellent analytical ability are required to gather and summarize data for reports and find solutions to various client problems

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, or related field
  • Proficiency using ESRI ArcGIS Software
