Overview:
This position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of any and all software applications assigned by a member of the Software Development Leadership team. You will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle; including analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, and support. While your focus will be geospatial applications, you will need to be knowledgeable in all areas of development. Responsibilities:

Knowledge Services is actively seeking a Geospatial (GIS) Developer for a full time, direct hire opportunity with one of our clients. This position is open for fully remote candidates.
This position is responsible for the creation and maintenance of any and all software applications assigned by a member of the Software Development Leadership team. You will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle; including analysis, design, programming, testing, implementation, and support. While your focus will be geospatial applications, you will need to be knowledgeable in all areas of development.
- Interact with end users to determine specifications for new software applications or software changes, work with other team members, and develop solid software solutions.
- Contribute to large-scale geographic spatial projects in support of Enterprise GIS Services.
- Engage in code and design reviews to ensure consistency and quality.
- Be responsible for features all the way from initial concepts to production deployment at all levels of our Tech Stack (SQL Server, NodeJS, Typescript, Angular, SASS).
- Maintain and modify existing web applications.
- Utilize performance monitors for web site optimization.
Education and training:
- B.S. in computer science or related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
Technical knowledge:
- Experience with ESRI enterprise software stack
- Experience utilizing ESRI REST API’s.
- Experience with ESRI JavaScript API’s.
- Proficient with NodeJS, Typescript, Angular or React, SASS.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, modular, and testable software.
- Experience integrating third-party API's and obscure data formats.
- Ability to quickly dissect complex problems and provide comprehensive technical solutions.
- Adept at identifying pragmatic solutions.
- Effective communication at all levels of technical understanding.
