Job description
This is full-time, professional, technical, and analytical work in the City’s Engineering Department, involving the research, analysis and design of moderately complex Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other highly technical software. Work involves the creation, management and analysis of spatial data with land-based GIS applications and data sets. Work requires maintaining knowledge of current technical and industry trends; and the exercise of initiative and judgment based upon technical expertise.
Salary: $52,354 - $82,410

To QualifyMinimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Have a valid Bachelor’s degree.
- Have some prior experience with GIS mapping, data and systems.
- Have experience in the development and implementation of GIS related user training.
- Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have basic knowledge of geodatabases, SQL for Oracle, Esri ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and ArcSDE including Python.
- Have basic knowledge of Oracle programming in a GIS environment.
- Have considerable ability to use map scales, map projections, coordinate systems and datum, information systems including databases, operating systems, and application development tools.
- Have basic skills in programming such as flow charting, object-oriented design, and debugging code.
- Are able to troubleshoot and correct application errors and data integrity issues.
