Job Description:
Transcon is seeking a GIS 2 Specialist assisting our Great Basin and Southwest Regions. This position can be remote (from your home office) or can be assigned to one of our Transcon offices in Draper or Cedar City, Utah or Mesa, Arizona. Working with the project team, the GIS 2 Specialist is responsible for providing support for a variety of small and large projects, including utility, transportation, telecommunications, government, development, and energy infrastructure projects, among others. Specific responsibilities may include updating and maintaining ArcGIS online maps, developing and publishing web browser maps, developing Survey 123 forms, and attending weekly meetings with the project team.
Compensation and Benefits:
Transcon offers competitive wages and benefits. Benefits for full time employees include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k, ESOP, paid time off, paid holidays, etc. Compensation is based on qualification and relevant experience. Th standard wage range for a GIS 2 Specialist position is $29.00-34.00 pr hour. Overtime is paid in accordance with state and federal laws. Actual compensation may be lower or hire depending on qualifications and experience.
Skills and Requirements:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in GIS or closely related field.
- Proficiency using ArcGIS.
- Familiarity with Experience Builder.
- Familiarity with Web App Builder Developer Edition.
- Familiarity with the Arcade programming language.
- Ability to perform work duties independently and reliably.
- Ability to complete work requests under pressure with short deadlines.
- Effective communication skills (e.g., writing, email, and telephone, etc.).
- Ability to perform work duties independently and efficiently, while working in a team setting.
- Ability to follow instruction and to make adjustments when provided feedback.
- Is organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy.
Experience in the following is preferred:
- Familiarity with ArcGIS online.
- Familiarity with Dashboards.
- Familiarity with Field Maps.
- Familiarity with Survey 123 Connect.
- Familiarity with the following programming languages:
- Python
- HTML
- Java
- SQL
- Experience working on construction projects.
- Previous experience in NEPA, FERC, NHPA, ESA, and/or other environmental programs.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
