About the Opportunity
Warner Norcross + Judd LLP has an immediate opening for a Governmental Affairs Specialist to join our Lansing office. We are seeking a candidate who can assist our Lansing Office Executive Partner and Regional Office Administrator to ensure office and business operations run smoothly and that client needs are met in our busy governmental affairs office. This office is the base of operation for our growing Government Affairs Practice Group, allowing for daily contact with lobbyists, political action committees, legislators and state agencies. Our office is located one block from the Capitol Building, and very close to state government departments, administrative agencies and the courts,

Additional Responsibilities
The Government Affairs Specialist will act as the Lansing Office Manager by performing additional administrative tasks and working closely with the Regional Office Administrator to ensure that the office runs smoothly.

Governmental Affairs Responsibilities
- Work with the firm’s governmental affairs team to schedule meetings and host events with legislators and department officials
- Develop and maintain relationships with legislative scheduling staff, including key departmental scheduling staff to assist the firm’s governmental affairs team with quick access to meetings
- Work with SOS systems and FEC to file campaign finance and lobby reports for the firm and clients
- Participate in governmental affairs team meetings and legislative committee hearings to assist with transcription as needed
- Work in cooperation with the firm’s governmental affairs team and marketing team to track legislation and create legislative summaries for internal and external use
- Prepare and proofread correspondence, memos, forms and other documents in proper form, ranging from simple to very complex while fully utilizing firm technology
- Maintain electronic and hard copy open files according to firm standards
- File and save documents in the firm’s document management system (iManage)
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, travel, business expense reimbursement, conference room reservations, opening and filing mail

- Associates degree or equivalent experience
- Proficient use of MS Office
- Positive attitude and supportive of firm initiatives
- Ability to handle confidential and privileged information with discretion
