SUMMARY: WR has a potential need for a GPNTS & NAVSSI Technician to provide US Navy and US Coast Guard Fleet Support.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supports operations, maintenance, and repair of the GPNTS and NAVSSI Systems and associated ancillary equipment.
- Provides leadership and mentoring to junior technicians.
- Responsible, but not limited to performing:
- Pre-Deployment Grooms (PDAs)
- System operations
- System software loads
- Master Configuration File (MCF) updates
- System troubleshooting
- System testing
- System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT)
- Compiles data and writes reports showing findings, deficiencies, and recommendations to the ships for identified problems as well as to the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA).
- Troubleshoots, tests, and repairs equipment and circuit cards.
- Provides a detailed report for each component.
- Develops, reviews, and provides support for the update of Allowance Parts Lists (APL), technical manuals, training curriculum, MIPs, MRCs, and various test procedures.
- Develops, reviews, and provides Daily Status Reports (DSRs) and Weekly Status Reports (WSRs).
- Reports issues within 24hrs of occurrence.
- Attends shipboard daily status meetings with a focus on documenting and reporting accomplishments and issues.
- Attends weekly and monthly program OIPT meetings with a focus on lessons learned, risks, accomplishments, and process improvements.
- Travels 20% of the time.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Formal electronics training from one or more of the following:
- Technical School
- Class A or B military school in electronics or communications
- Four (4) year electronics apprentice program
- Formal electronics training to include:
- Installation Tasks
- Soldering
- Cable Tray
- Conduit
- Making/Repairing Connectors
- Five (5) + years of experience performing work in support of Government or Commercial:
- Electronic Systems
- Inertial Navigation Equipment
- Experience in equipment testing, interpreting, and evaluating field data
- Five (5) + years of experience as a technician (in related electronics fields) performing work
- Knowledge of the advanced operation and systems analysis of government or commercial electronic systems or inertial navigation equipment
- One (1) + years of experience providing technical instruction to lower-level field representatives and technicians (in related electronic fields) including, but not limited to:
- Performing work in support of operation and systems analysis of electronic systems or inertial navigation systems

Position Target Salary Range: $48,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year. The offered salary is based on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, and job-related skills.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment third-party background check which may include verification of any of the following: Employment history; Education and/or certifications; Criminal history; Driving Records; Other records or information related to the candidate’s suitability for the position.
