POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under supervision, provides expert-level branded design solutions for the medical group brands. In conjunction with marketing leadership, enforces the established brand standards and style guides for the medical group and nearby health system. As directed, works with external sources to ensure compliance with the brand. Manages assigned projects and supports the regional Marketing & Communications teams for design needs of the organization, including marketing campaigns, digital and social media, advertising, patient and colleague communications and signage.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Is part of Trinity Health's Creative Services Center for Expertise (COE). The virtual team consists of graphic designers across the country who perform work for several ministries within the enterprise but will be based in Michigan. Out of state travel is not required in this job. Participates in the COE team and collaborates with other designers.
- Under supervision, assists in providing expert level branded design solutions for the assigned location.
- Creates designs for internal and patient communications, as well as marketing campaigns and paid advertising requests including digital, print, outdoor digital, etc.; creates, implements and maintains design standards.
- Provides design support, production and creative direction for special events and major activities across the Trinity Health IHA Medical Group.
- In conjunction with the production team, provides direction for outside vendors, including any creative agencies, photographers, videographers, freelancers and others to ensure alignment with branding design.
- Develops strong working relationship with internal print shop resources and/or outside printers and mail houses. Performs press checks as needed.
- Supports Senior Graphic Designer in managing IHA’s virtual Stationery Store and associated content which includes maintaining proper inventories for all IHA clients.
- Applies a thorough knowledge and understanding of the marketing objectives and strategies for the health system.
- Manages multiple creative requests, prioritizes work through production schedules and enforces project timelines/deadlines.
- Promotes diversity in all marketing materials.
- Updates content, adding content and creating new imagery for digital marketing tools and various campaigns.
- Assists with other projects and duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design or a related field with three (3) years of progressively responsible design experience executing graphic and digital designs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: None
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Four (4) or more years’ work experience as graphic designer, with two (2) years’ or more work experience with web and digital development; background in Marketing and Advertising.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ABILITIES & SKILLS):
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
- Knowledge of SEO, marketing principles and law related to position responsibilities.
- Expert skills in Adobe Design Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator). Knowledgeable in After Affects or other comparable animation software.
- Must have a professional portfolio of design work to share examples of relative previous work.
- Ability to offer artistic ideas/solutions, while maintaining a feel for a professional aesthetic and understanding of customer needs. Excellent attention to detail.
- Maintains familiarity with IHA priorities in order to convey agreed upon message. Ability to conceptualize and execute creative solutions across print, web & digital mediums, including print ads, ad campaign graphics, package design, brand identity, website design, web banner design, and more.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms, including proper phone etiquette. Ability to speak before groups of people, either in-person or virtually.
- Ability to model leadership skills/behaviors and mentor team when needed. Must be self-motivated, self-directed, proactive and solution-oriented in approach to work and servicing the needs of internal and external clients and audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple high-level projects simultaneously and independently under strict deadlines.
- Excellent planning, organization and prioritization skills in the areas of needs assessment, project management, budgeting and tactical execution.
- Ability to assist outside design areas when needed and accept new challenges as they arise.
- Maintains knowledge and works with the latest design technology and equipment.
- Proficient knowledge of pre-press and print production.
- Proficient knowledge of brand positioning and strategy.
- Sufficient knowledge of mathematics.
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of both IHA and Trinity Health.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; displays courteous and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively with various levels of organizational members and diverse populations including IHA staff, IHA Committee members, providers, health plan representatives, community leaders, local media outlets, marketing/advertising vendors, patients, family members and guests.

- Ability to handle patient and organizational information in a confidential manner.
- Successful completion of IHA competency-based program within introductory and training period.
- Sufficient knowledge of medical terminology to perform responsibilities.
- Must be able to drive to various Trinity Health sites as needed.

This job operates in a typical office environment which involves frequent interruptions and significant interaction with people which can be stressful at times. Requires ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same time period and adapt to interruptions.
