This position is for a merchandiser with the majority of accounts in New Jersey, NYC, and surrounding areas. The job will entail increasing sales at store locations through new item cut-ins; shelf maintenance; maximizing off-shelf opportunities, reporting information internally; training store team members, and performing retail store sets as needed. Maximum Marketing has been in business since 1991 and is a leading, independently owned, food brokerage company. We represent manufacturers found throughout food stores including specialty, natural, and organic foods; health and beauty care; vitamins; and household goods. This is a Full Time position, Part Time Considered. Experience as a Retail Merchandiser is required.

Job responsibilities include the following:

• Provide excellent customer service and develop strong customer relationships for Maximum Marketing
• Maintain strong relationships with customers including distributors
• Cut In new products and approved items and report results internally.
• Collect data and report through digital applications
• Build displays and place promotional materials
• Utilize data, sales tools, and other resources to obtain the sale
• Meet the needs of clients
• Assist sales representatives
• Sell end caps, displays, and Maximize new item opportunities
• Handle resets as required
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times
• Be a Great team player
• Represent and promote our mission statement
• Perform 3-5 calls per day, following Maximum Marketing Store Procedure
• Return phone calls and emails within policy guidelines
• Attend 2-3 sale trainings, shows, or regional meetings per year as required
• Accurate and Timely submission of paperwork and reporting
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by Management

Requirements:

1. A minimum of 2 years experience merchandising or selling specialty grocery products preferably in the Consumer Goods Industry

2. Advanced relationship building skills with very strong organization and follow up

3. Strong communication skills

4. Must be comfortable learning and effectively utilizing technology and applications used by Maximum Marketing and currently possess basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

5. Merchandising Skills

6. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; and must have clean, presentable, reliable transportation

7. Have working office space with a dependable cable internet connection, phone reception, and adequate space for samples, literature, and any other work materials

8. Must have working computer with current Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Adobe Reader (at minimum)

9. Lifting up to 25# for sample product shipments; in store merchandising; and sales presentations

10. Overnight travel

11. Specified and very limited weekend and evening work required for customer, industry, and company events

Physical Requirements

• The ability to constantly exchange accurate information through the company’s, customer’s, client’s, associates, team member’s, or manager’s method of communication including but not limited to phone, email, text, in person, or through portals and applications.
• Must be able to constantly travel in automobiles and other travel methods requiring extended time in a stationary position with exposure to varying weather conditions. Must be able to drive a car for extended periods of time and perform travel staying overnight in hotels.
• Requires ability to maintain constant movement for the entire workday while in the field or at a trade show or customer presentation or event.
• Must have dexterous use of hands in order to grasp products, equipment, shelving, merchandising materials, and presentation devices.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and transport up to 25 pounds; occasionally ascend or descend stairs or stool. Must be able to occasionally position self to perform work at all heights at a customer location or industry event.
• Must be able to work in extreme cold conditions such as a customer’s cold box or freezer as needed.
• Includes repetitive motions and ability to constantly utilize electronic devices which may include; computer, iPad, smart phones, cell phones, and web-based applications.
• Requires the capability to remain in a stationary position for the majority of a workday to perform office duties.
• Must be comfortable frequently and effectively utilizing tools such as a calculator, scanner, printer, hand truck, or case cutter.
