Job description
The mission of the Social Media Workgroup (SMW) is to provide professional training and experience to students working in digital media, technology and sustainability through the design and creation of projects that support and enact positive social and environmental change. Faculty, exceptional undergraduate and graduate students, community partners and outside experts work in interdisciplinary collaborative teams to design and develop a wide variety of media and events for various audiences. The proposed Summer Associate project aligns with the Education focus area and preventing summer learning loss for students, to help educate students along with emerging professionals and other community members in STEAM (STEM + Art) fields. Based on our previous track record, for this 10-week summer program we expect to benefit at least 50 post-secondary students and at least 50 emerging professionals, community members and youth.
Member Duties : The VISTA will strengthen an existing network of partners and secure new, fortifying partnerships and sustainable funding sources to support the employment of more students, that will help educate them along with emerging professionals, parents and other community members throughout the state in STEAM fields. The successful VISTA candidate will perform activities including community assessment, community awareness and engagement, expanding and strengthening partnerships and networks, developing a fundraising plan, grant research and writing, using social media tools and other technology
