WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Help Desk Technician II is a non-exempt position responsible for assisting in the installation and maintenance of all computer hardware, software, and help-desk support of basic personal computer software. This is the middle support level responsible for medium level issues.
- Maintain Active Directory
- Provide agency personnel with software applications, hardware, and phone voicemail support
- Install and troubleshoot hardware and peripheral components for computers, laptops and network equipment
- Utilize remote control tools to take over a user’s machine for the sole purpose of troubleshooting and finding a solution to problem
- Support mobile device management software and devices
- Assist in ordering and maintaining adequate stock of computer supplies necessary to ensure efficient and ongoing operation of computer equipment
- Assist in maintaining an agency-wide inventory of all computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment and proper recycling of old equipment
- Maintain an accurate accounting of all users to include logins, primary system used, and other identifying information
- Troubleshoot router and Optical Network Termination (ONT) for internet and network connections
- Prepare word processing documents, spreadsheets, and databases as necessary for technical support and training purposes
- Assist in providing training and support of phone systems
- Perform all other duties as directed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Associates degree in related industry, equivalent technical school certification, or substantial work experience
- Two+ years’ experience maintaining computer systems using Microsoft Windows operating systems preferred
- Two years of Help Desk experience preferred
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products such as Outlook, Excel, and Teams
- Demonstrated competency in all aspects of Level I Help Desk functions
- Deep familiarity and use of Active Directory
- Technical documentation skills required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Must have a valid drivers’ license and current automobile insurance coverage
