Position Title: Secondary Science Teacher

Job Description:

The Secondary Science Teacher serves the students and families, primarily in 7th -

12th grades, by providing a program which focuses on student confidence, growth

and achievement. The Secondary Science Teacher will assist in developing student’s

creativity, critical-thinking skills, willingness to take risks, and perseverance. They

will hold themself to high standards and expect the same from their students. They

will work in coordination with the student, their family, members of the faculty, and

the school administration, to assist students in discovering their strengths and

interests to drive academic and personal growth and achievement.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

● Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and

abilities of students.

● Creates a positive classroom environment that promotes continuous student

learning and growth.

● Guides the learning process to foster a love of learning and builds the self

confidence of students.

● Employs a variety of instructional methods and materials to engage and

inspire students.

● Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides

progress reports and meaningful feedback.

● Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis.

● Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing

student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of

classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom.

● Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment,

materials, and facilities.

● Strives to continuously improve professionally through improving practices

and advanced learning opportunities.

● Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as requested.

● Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district

policy, and administrative regulation.

● Seeks out opportunities for professional growth to enhance the student

experience.

● Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student

information.

Education/Experience/Skills:

● Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in applicable field of study/education from an

accredited college or university.

● Valid Idaho Teaching Certificate endorsed for appropriate levels and subjects.

● Demonstrated experience with experiential or project-based learning.

● Excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process.

● Demonstrated success in effectively solving challenging problems through a

positive, collaborative approach.

● Evidence of high levels of organizational skills and the ability to work closely

and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues in the school.

● Interest in the mission and educational goals of Innovate Academy and

Preparatory School and the ability to advocate for the school & its students in

the learning process.

● Excellent oral and written communication skills.

● Ability to work with diverse populations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
