Job description
Kaukauna Utilities is seeking an enthusiastic student that is interested in pursuing a career in the maintenance field. Work involves installation and repair of mechanical and electrical systems, maintenance, repair, and operation of power plant machinery, substations, water department facilities, and other utility facilities and equipment. Work performed is preventative and corrective in nature involving mechanical and electrical devices associated with improvements in power plant design and operations.
Essential Functions
- Assist with installation, testing, and troubleshooting various types of motors, control pumps, electrical and mechanical valves, hydraulic systems, water turbines, and generators.
- Exposure to dam maintenance
- Perform routine lubrication and other services to equipment and machinery as required.
- Use hand tools and equipment safely
- Read technical drawings and work orders
Required Experience
- Applicants must be eligible or currently enrolled in the State of Wisconsin, Department of Workforce Development, Youth Apprenticeship program.
- Must be at least a Junior or Senior in High School.
- Employment would include summer and part-time school year commitment.
- There is a 450-hour requirement minimum based on Youth Apprentice Program guidelines.
