Primary Function: The House Manager is responsible for the administration, direction and coordination of the programs operated by Blossom Hill and reports to the Executive Director.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Administers the programs of Blossom Hill under the authority of the Executive Director.
- Oversees the daily operations of Blossom Hill programs operated by the organization.
- Works with the appropriate staff of the various programs to assure the provision of the optimum environment to fulfill the mission of the corporation. Conducts regular meetings to coordinate and integrate the total corporation’s activities within the programs.
- Ensures that services provided by Blossom Hill are delivered in a manner, which supports and maintains each individuals’ dignity, rights, choices and options.
- Works with governmental and other regulatory organizations to assure compliance with regulations and fiscal requirements while assuring continued quality.
- Performs the responsibilities within the human resource area to ensure appropriate staff selection, orientation, training, development and recognition for the programs operated.
a. Establish effective and predictable communications systems, strategies, and team meetings to ensure the appropriate delineation of information and efficient teamwork are accomplished.
b. Conducts regular individual supervision meetings to guide, coach, and mentor all assigned staff.
c. Ensures cooperative, productive working relationship with maintenance staff
d. Recognizes individuals’ needs and expectations.
e. Displays a positive attitude. Responds positively to changes and demonstrates the ability to be flexible in their work environment.
f. Interacts with peers and colleagues and all other customers with the understanding that service is our reason for existence.
g. Ability and willingness to work with all co-workers and customers
- Participates in MUI process.
- Participates in survey and inspection preparation with attention to compliance with expectations on a daily, ongoing basis.
- Complies with the requirements of checking e-mails and phone messages on a regular basis
- Implements and monitors annual budgets for operating programs (approved by the Board of Directors).
- Authorizes purchases of supplies and equipment.
- Approves monthly expenditure, co-signs checks and monitors the financial position of the corporation.
- Attends in-service, management meetings, facility meetings, board meetings, seminars and conferences as required or necessary.
- Works with other appropriate community, state and governmental agencies and organizations to share information and remain cognizant of new ideas and trends in the provision of services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Serves as liaison between other agencies and the Haven Hill Home.
- Participates in on-going community awareness.
- Participates in meetings and conferences with local, state and national associations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and experience in a social services field with community health or developmental disabilities experience preferred.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and proof of vehicle liability insurance.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a medical or religious accommodation is requested
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Routinely assumes 24-hour on-call responsibilities
- Ability to work will evenings and weekends a possibility
**Due to the physical limitations of the individuals that we serve, this employment positions requires all staff members to be able to lift the residents with the assistance of co-worker(s) and/or mechanical devices. All staff must be able to respond quickly to emergency situations such as fire drills and evacuations, unstable weather drills, and ensuring resident safety at all times.
