We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Housekeeping Manager on our Katzman Center for Living campus in Chelsea, MA!

Position Summary: The Housekeeping Manager will plan, organize, and direct the operations of all housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure that our facilities are maintained in a clean, safe and comfortable manner for residents, families and staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Orients, instructs and supervises housekeeping staff. Assigns duties and evaluates work performance.
• Ensures sufficient inventory of supplies and equipment for use in all departments.
• Collaborates with Director of EVS, Executive Directors on cleanliness of resident rooms, the facility, and grounds.
• Ensures the facility is kept clean, sanitary, and odor free at all times, in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations
• Maintains accurate linen count and assure that all linens are in condition.
• Perform or direct heavy custodial duties such as scrubbing and buffing, cleaning of basement, storage, and utility areas, washing walls, ceilings, outside windows, changing screens and storm windows, changing light bulbs in ceiling fixtures and housekeeping duties in very high places, removing and disposing of garbage and trash.
• Flexibility to handle emergency call during off hours.
• Familiarity with regulations and survey process as it pertains to Housekeeping and Laundry.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or graduate of a technical school.
• At least three years of experience in housekeeping with experience working in a long-term care facility preferred.
• Must possess strong leadership skills
• Knowledge of safety regulations, local codes and ordinances. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals.
• Ability to plan, direct others.
• Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and the care of this equipment.
• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, family members, visitors, colleagues, and the general public.

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week including some on-call responsibilities.
