Overview
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for collecting, compiling and analyzing HR data, metrics and statistics, and applying this data to make strategic recommendations related to DDI’s workforce and business practices including but not limited to the areas of total rewards, employee health & safety and recruitment & retention.
This position is eligible for hybrid work if desired.

DDI has been a part of Long Island for over 50 years serving over 1,500 children and adults with Autism, other developmental disabilities and special needs. DDI provides innovative and expansive services to our population through various educational settings, residential services, day habilitation programs and vocational services.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer quality control standards and processes relating to data in the HCMS. Research irregularities identified on audit reports, recommend business process solutions to address irregularities and monitor those solutions to ensure data integrity.
- Serve as the system administrator for the HCMS. Review security access for employees, managers and administrators and maintain business rules to ensure up to date information with proper controls in place.
- Ensure the integrity of all data in the HCMS and work with HR vendors to ensure accuracy of the information that is transmitted electronically between the HCMS & their systems.
- Review HCMS workflows established and other business processes within the HCMS and ensure the Agency is maximizing the functionality of the system.
- In partnership with the Manager of Employee Health & Total Rewards develop and conduct management trainings regarding the HCMS functionality and ensure it is being leveraged properly.
- Recommend business process improvements for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
- Administer the Agency’s DSP Levels program.
- Compile data and identify trends in areas of total rewards, employee health & safety and recruitment & retention as well as other areas as needed. Work with subject matter experts for these areas and make strategic recommendations to reduce negative trends in these areas.
- Generate monthly, standard, custom and ad hoc reports in support of program needs & strategic management objectives.
- Review workforce metrics and make recommendations for additional strategic relevant metrics for consideration.
- Partner with the Manager of Employee Health & Total Rewards on all aspects of DDI’s Total Rewards package to ensure backup support can be provided as needed.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking analysis for agency positions and determine job matches and make recommendations for adjustments that are in line with the agency’s compensation philosophy
- Ensure positions and salaries are in compliance with the FLSA as well as reviewing compensation on selected positions on an annual basis to determine if structures are externally competitive.
- Review job descriptions and make recommendations to program directors for adjustments or changes as applicable.
- Act as the backup to the Manager of Employee Health & Total Rewards for all job changes, salary increases, incentive plans, etc.
- Complete regulatory, salary and benefit surveys.
- Administer employee satisfaction surveys and analyze and compile data for presentation to the Director of HR, DDI’s Executive Team & the workforce.
- Ensure confidentiality of all employee/agency information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 3 years of experience in Human Resources
- Ability to present and speak in front of groups
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and work on projects with limited supervision.
- Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with advanced MS Excel ability.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
