GENERAL SUMMARY
Weldon Services is rapidly growing and has an opening for a Commercial HVAC Helper to work on a 1:1 ratio with a Commercial HVAC Service Technician on service calls and Preventative Maintenance service trips. The goal is to develop the Helper into a Commercial HVAC PM Technician after completing requisite hours.
M-F 7:00 am - 3:30 pm is standard work week with a rotating On Call schedule (currently once every 5 weeks)
Overtime based on job needs and season
BACKGROUND:
The Commercial HVAC Apprentice Service Technician candidate must be able to pass (A) a Pre-Employment Drug Screening Test, (B) Pre-Employment Background check, and (C) Pre-Employment Motor Vehicle Driving Record Assessment. The Apprentice must also pass all entrance requirements for Tarrant County Community College. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
DUTIES:
The HVAC helper will assist the HVAC Tech on the following, learning skills through On-the-Job experience:
- Work aids required and sequence of installations;
- Learn cause of equipment breakdown;
- Tests parts with appropriate instruments;
- Dissembles and assembles parts and makes necessary repairs as directed by HVAC Tech;
- Connects motors to control panels to power source as directed by HVAC Tech;
- Installs refrigerant piping as necessary for split system A/C units if directed by HVAC Tech;
- Learns to analyze wiring schematics;
- Assist in techanical service and troublshooting of split systems, packaged A/C systems, chill water, hot water systems, boilers, motors, pumps, etc.;
